About me
I have been a consultant endocrinologist for over 40 years. I have maintained a strong interest in PCOS, menopause and osteoporosis.
In my clinics I see women with wide range of hormonal disorders including absent and/or irregular periods, premenstrual syndrome, unwanted hair growth, hyperprolactinaemia and thyroid disorders.
I have long standing and extensive clinical experience in management of PCOS and have pioneered the use of anti-androgens and metformin in this condition.
A significant proportion of my clinical practice is management of perimenopausal and postmenopausal women, giving them advice on the risks and benefits of menopausal HRT regimes and individually tailoring and monitoring their hormone replacement.
For many years I have had a special interest in providing young women with premature menopause with comprehensive advice regarding fertility and HRT.
I monitor and treat young women with autoimmune thyroid disorders who are pregnant or planning pregnancy.
I consult to men, as well as women, with low bone density or osteoporosis for diagnosis and treatment. I have long standing experience in managing osteoporosis in young women with eating disorders.
I am also investigating and treating patients with vitamin D deficiency, calcium disorders including hyperparathyroidism and thyroid disorders.

My outcomes
Outcomes (self-reported)
The investigations and treatment of patients are mainly performed in the out-patients settings. As my areas of expertise are Reproductive Endocrinology and Osteoporosis I do not have a need to hospitalise patients for those conditions. Therefore outcomes such as re-admission rate, postoperative infections or mortality rate are not relevant for my practice.
I did have patients' satisfaction questionaire as a part of my 360 degree feedback and I was pleased to see that 100% of those who returned questionnaire (based on 24 patients' response) were satisfied with my consultation. 22 were "very satisfied" and 2 were "fairly satisfied".
