About me
Mr Robert Marston studied medicine at St Thomas’ Hospital, London University from 1979 qualifying MBBS in 1985. In 1982 he gained BSc Honours in Anatomy having been 1 in 10 students to gain an intercalated degree place.
After house jobs at St Thomas’ and St Peters Chertsey, he was a full time lecturer in Anatomy at St. Marys, Paddington, for a year whilst doing the primary FRCS. After doing A&E at St. Marys, he spent two and a half years at the United Norwich Hospital group as a basic surgical trainee.
In 1990, he was appointed to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital / Middlesex Hospital Orthopaedic Training Scheme. During his training, he spent six months as Johnson and Johnson research fellow for Professor Bentley. He was Zimmer Fellow to Mr William Muirhead-Allwood. He gained a British Orthopaedic Association Fellowship spent in USA and Queensland.
He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to St. Marys Hospital / Imperial in October 1995 with a special interest in hip and revision hip surgery.
After 20 years, the last 7 as head of N.W Thames Orthopaedic Surgical Training, he went into full time private practice on 1st April 2016 at the Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth. where he was was the head of the Hip and Knee Units and ran the Trauma Unit.
His practice is now based at King Edward VII Hospital in Marylebone, London.

Minimally invasive hip and knee replacement, revision replacement and lower limb fracture surgery. Partial knee replacement and arthroscopy. Ankle and forefoot surgery.
