About me

I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist based at St George's Hospital, London and Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton. I qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and completed my junior and specialist training in London.

I am involved in all aspects of gastroenterological care running weekly gastroenterology clinics at St George's and Queen Mary's Hospitals along with specialist Inflammatory Bowel Disease clinics at St George's. I also carry out regular upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy lists at St George's and Queen Mary's Hospitals and I am an accredited screening colonoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme delivering this service for South West London.

In addition to my regular clinical work I have carried out work for the British Society of Gastroenterology, The Royal College of Physicians and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

I am the joint lead for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at St George's Hospital.

I am actively involved in research supervising MD and PhD students.

I have undertaken research in a broad range of gastrointestinal problems and has published widely developing a National and International reputation (see publications).

I was awarded a MD by the University of London for my research and I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at St. George's Hospital Medical School.

Personal interests

I have 3 children and a rescue greyhound, they fill all the spare time I have!
