About me
I graduated from the Northern College of Podiatry in
1990, and quickly became interested in the surgical aspect of the profession. Following completion of the MPodA exam in 1994, I began training as a Podiatric Surgeon in South Derbyshire gaining Fellowship of the Podiatry Association in1997.
Following fellowship I continued working with the Trust as an SPr in Podiatric Surgery until 2000 when I was appointed Consultant Podiatric Surgeon with Doncaster Health Care NHS Trust. I am now employed by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as Clinical Head of Podiatric Surgery.
I have worked hard to develop my surgical skills pushing the development of scope of practice in Podiatric Surgery.
I am a registered tutor with the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery and have supervised a number of trainees both pre and post fellowship.
I have been involved in the political side of the
profession being elected to the Faculty Board and subsequently holding the position of Regional Chair of the Northern Region, Vice Dean ofthe Faculty of Surgery and latterly Dean of the Faculty of Podiatric Surgery, a position I held until 2012.
I Have lectured at many national and international conferences and have published a number of papers in peer reviewed journals.
I currently operate 4 sessions per week undertaking up to 800 surgical procedures per year
I am chair of Clinical Governance and Chair of MAC.
