Whilst training in Sheffield, he undertook research into the development of colon cancer in inflammatory bowel disease in association with the University of Sheffield (Molecular Gastroenterology Research Group https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/oncology-metabolism/research/surgicaloncology/research/gastro_group and Chemical Engineering department. http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/chelsi). This research led to award of MD from the University of Sheffield. He has published in several national and international peer reviewed journals. He has also presented papers (oral and poster presentations) at national and international Gastroenterology meetings (American Gastroenterology Association, United European Gastroenterology Week, British Society of Gastroenterology).
