About me
Mr Prasad studied at St Andrews and Manchester University. His basic surgical training was undertaken around Manchester before gaining entry into the South West Thames rotation.
Throughout his training, he had a strong interest in spinal surgery. He tailored his rotation towards spine and worked with most of the spinal consultants on the South West Thames rotation.
He accumulated 3 years of experience in degenerative, tumour and trauma surgery and consolidated his training with a 12-month fellowship in adult and paediatric deformity, and complex revision at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He was then appointed as a locum spinal consultant at the RNOH for 16 months to continue developing his skills to the highest standard.
Mr Prasad's NHS practice is based at Ashford and St Peters Foundation Trust. He has been clinical lead for pain and spinal surgery supporting the spinal service at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, and is currently clinical lead for elective orthopaedic surgery.
His 5-year plan is to establish the Surrey Surgical Centre as a leading elective orthopaedic centre working collaboratively with his colleagues at East Surrey Hospital and Royal Surrey County Hospital.
Mr Prasad focuses on delivering evidence based care. He is known for working with his patients to develop a unique, individualised care package as he recognises everyone's experience and priorities are different.
Mr Prasad loves travelling, back packed many destinations and instilling the bug to 3 children to experience the world's culture and cuisine.
He also runs three times a week with his fox red labrador.
