Dr Giardini is a consultant paediatric cardiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and is the cardiology lead (director) for inpatients (day admissions/regular hospital admissions) and is the lead for the exercise physiology laboratory
Dr. Giardini runs the specialist single ventricle and fragile babies clinics and the inherited cardiac conditions/cardiomyopathy clinic.
Dr. Giardini has over 10 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of congenital cardiac defects.
Research interests
Dr Giardini has a long track record as a researcher and is author of more than 120 peer reviewed publications on the most important international cardiology journals. His research interests are the outcomes of surgical or interventional treatment of congenital defects, quality improvement and exercise physiology in children with heart or lung disease.
Awards received
Dr Giardini has received a PhD in cardiology and is a senior Lecturer at the Institute of Cardiovascular Science - University College London.
