About me
Dr Carolyn Millar specialises in thrombosis and haemostasis across Hammersmith, Charing Cross and St Mary’s hospitals and is an expert in obstetric haematology, practising at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea hospital. While a tendency to clotting and bleeding problems may sometimes have an inherited component, problems frequently do not manifest until times of surgery, during pregnancy or hormonal therapies or in association with chronic diseases in later life. Dr Millar qualified in medicine in 1995 with distinction in all subjects and completed her postgraduate clinical training and doctoral research at University College London and various London hospitals. She was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in the department of haematology at Imperial College London in 2008, where she holds a variety of academic leadership positions. Her work is widely published and she has helped to develop national guidelines to optimise treatment for all patients. She is an examiner for the Royal College of Pathologists. A caring and skilled clinician, Dr Millar combines her internationally recognised expertise in haematology with a passion for individualised patient care of the highest standard.
