About me
I am an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist specialising in the area of Physical Health and Illness. I am senior practitioner having qualified in 2007. I work in private practice and I also work in the NHS leading psychology services.
I have extensive experience suppoting clients prepare and cope with treatment, rehabilitation and adjustment following illness, retuning to work, and dealing with young family.
The majority of my clinical experience has been focused on supporting those affected by Cancer, Long-term/ Chronic Conditions, including persistent pain.
I have experience supporting clients with advanced disease who are coming to terms with life limiting illness and I support families through bereavement.
I offer support to adult patients and carers; working with individuals, couples and and families.
Interventions are determined through a supportive process of assessment, formulation, and collaboration. Specific therapeutic approaches offered include: CBT and family therapy. As well, integrative interventions are offered that draw upon multiple theoretical approaches: systemic psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy, attachment theory and mindfulness techniques.
I offer supervision and support to healthcare professionals, including medics and nursing colleagues who may be struggling with the emotional impact of work.
