I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist specialising in pain management rehabilitation. I have over 18 years NHS experience of successfully delivering psychological therapy working with individuals, families or groups.
My main approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but I also draw upon a range of contextual approaches including Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and Acceptance-based Therapies.
I am a member of the British Pain Society and in 2014 I was elected as chair of the British Pain Society, Pain Management Programme Special Interest Group.
I also work part time at the Heart and Lung transplant Unit and in 2009 I founded the UK Cardiothoracic Transplant Clinical Psychology Network.
I am actively involved in postgraduate teaching and training, with trainee clinical psychologists and also for members of other allied health professions. I supervise Doctoral research projects and my work has been presented at International conferences (ISHLT Montreal 2013).
