About me

David Hallam BSc(Chiro) MMCA LCC is a 2004 graduate of the Chiropractic degree course at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. He has been practising in Peterborough since 2004.

Professional affiliations

David is registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), the Statutory Body responsible for overseeing the Chiropractic profession in the UK (it is actually illegal to call yourself a 'Chiropractor' in the UK if you are not registered with the GCC). He is a member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association and a licentiate member of the College of Chiropractors.

Other training

In 2006, David became the second chiropractor in the UK to be certified as a practitioner of the 'Neuromuscular Reeducation' soft tissue technique. David also holds a Diploma in Body Massage and a Certificate in Sports massage. He uses his massage skills to complement his chiropractic treatment. In 2012, he became a certified practitioner of Emmett Technique, a gentle method of muscle release which works hand-in-hand with his other treatment methods.

David first became interested in chiropractic when he was working in London as a legal publisher. "I used to sit at a desk all day and get a very stiff back. Looking back at pictures of myself from the time I can only marvel at how poor my posture was. I started going to a McTimoney chiropractor and found it to be incredibly helpful. I was always fascinated by the profession and when I got the opportunity to start training myself I jumped at it. The chiropractic students all practise on each other and so naturally we all received a lot of treatment. Despite the demands of the course I just remember feeling more relaxed than I had done for years because my back was just so much more comfortable. I still try and get a McTimoney treatment at least once a month as it helps me cope with the demands of working in the clinic."
