I am a senior accredited BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist. My counselling career started over 20 years ago. My first clients were victims of serious crime through Victim Support and the Police. I was employed at SCILL (Sutton Centre for Independent Living and Learning) counselling clients with disabilities. I ran Stress Management and Making the Most of your Memory courses to help clients deal with the stress related to their disabilities and the impact it had on their families and friends and memory loss after head injuries and strokes.
I help to set up Headway in Sutton as a Director running meetings, supporting members and counselling clients who had had serious head injuries after accidents. In particular clients who had lost their sight damaged through the head injury. Sadly the Sutton Branch had to be closed some time ago.
I have been in private practise for many years. It allows me to see clients when needed and do home visits if the client is not mobile or are blind.
I see clients of all ages from 8 years to 90 years and couples. I attend critical incidents for debriefing and groups after sudden deaths or traumas in the work place.
My interest also are early Dementia and or Parkinson's clients helping clients come to terms with their diagnosis and helping them with short term memory. Clients with Fibromyaliga and or ME who find it hard to get help.
