Dr Williams qualified from Manchester University with Honours in 1997 and undertook his junior training jobs in the NorthWest of England. He trained as a dermatologist on the Northwest training scheme and undertook 2 years of research in Melbourne, Australia in the field of allergies and work related disorders. He is Director of the Contact Dermatitis Investigation Unit (the largest patch test centre in Europe) and undertakes patch testing for patients from across the Northwest. He is meetings secretary for the British Society of Cutaneous Allergies and runs the annual BSCA training course in Manchester. He is widely published in journals and has authored several book chapters. In addition to patch testing, he consults patients with all forms of skin disease.

Dr Williams is a lifelong football fan (Nottingham Forest), though he has a soft spot for BWFC as he trained extensively in the Royal Bolton Hospital.
He is also interested in cooking and wine.
Dr Williams has authored several book chapters and original articles in the fields of contact dermatitis and general dermatology.
Courses offered to GPs
Dr Williams lectures on the Chorley GP Dermatology Course twice yearly and often lectures GP's locally.
He is heavily involved with teaching and supervising the trainess at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.
