Dr Gordon is now a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch NHS Trust.
He is the clinical lead for Endoscopy and upper GI Physiology.
He is an experienced endoscopist, both upper GI and colonoscopy, and regularly performs upper and lower GI therapeutics
His areas of specialist interest include irritable bowel syndrome, Barrett's oesophagus (including HALO radiofrequency ablation), endoscopy, reflux disease, the hiatus hernia, colonoscopy, and GI physiology (the techniques used to diagnose problems due to reflux/heartburn).
He has expertise in the diagnosis and management of Barrett's oesophagus (a condition of the gullet that increases the risk of oesophageal cancer). He heads the service that treats Barrett's oesophagus- a treatment called HALO RadioFrequency Ablation (RFA). Dr Gordon contributes to research in this field, and teaches on national endotherapy courses.
