This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

Niall Patton MB ChB, MD, FRCOphth is a Consultant Ophthamologist, Cataract and Vitreoretinal Surgeon at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He is also Director of the Manchester Vitreoretinal Fellowship Program for International Ophthalmologists from around the world who visit Manchester Royal Eye Hospital to gain high level surgical and clinical expertise in the management of retinal disease. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Manchester in 1996. He completed his ophthalmic surgical training at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Edinburgh. In addition, he has undertaken four years of specialist Vitreoretinal surgical fellowship training at the Lions Eye Institute, Western Australia, Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Edinburgh, Tennant Eye Institute, Glasgow and Moorfield's Eye Hospital, London. He was appointed as a Consultant at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2008. He continually audits his own practice to maintain the highest standards of medical and surgical care.
His surgical expertise encompasses all aspects of vitreoretinal surgery and he is at the forefront of the latest micro-incisional vitreoretinal techniques such as 23G, 25G and 27G Pars Plana Vitrectomy. In addition, he combines micro-incisional cataract surgery as a routine where necessary in conjunction with vitreoretinal surgery. He has particular expertise in macular hole surgery, retinal detachment surgery, epiretinal membrane surgery, diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration and an international reputation in the successful treatment of floaters.
