About me
Dr Nunes graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town in 1994 after which he undertook further postgraduate medical training and subsequent specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine in the South Thames training programme, London. He spent a period of four years at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital which included a period of research with King’s College London in Oral Crohn’s Disease, Orofacial Granulomatosis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. During this period he gained extensive experience in both upper and lower GI diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
Dr Nunes completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine in 2008 and was appointed Consultant at The Kent & Canterbury Hospital the same year. He sees patients with all gastroenterological conditions and has developed a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Bowel Cancer & Screening; Irritable Bowel Disease (IBS), Dypepsia and Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. Dr Nunes is also a national accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist having developed a special interest in bowel cancer and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. He is also a honorary invited lecturer at the St George’s Hospital, London colonoscopy training courses.
