About me

Prof. Hart is a Consultant Hand, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon in the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit, Glasgow & the Scottish National Brachial Plexus Service with a subspecialty remit for peripheral nerve surgery and reconstructive microsurgery.
He trained in that unit, and in London, Sweden, Manchester, and Leeds where he completed the British Society for Surgery of the Hand Interface Training Fellowship.
He has an extensive academic record, with >50 publications, >90 international presentations, and extensive involvement in teaching and training. He holds the Stephen Forrest Chair at the University of Glasgow, where a programme of doctoral & post-doctoral research investigates novel approaches to peripheral nerve reconstruction, to Tissue Engineering and the use of stem cells, and the refinement of reconstructive microsurgery for cancer, congenital, and acquired conditions.
