About me

Mr Christopher Sutton is a Consultant General Surgeon (current Head of Service) specialising in Upper Gastro Intestinal Surgery at Leicester Royal Infirmary. His specialist interests include anti-reflux surgery – he is one of only a small number of surgeons to offer a full range of surgeries to treat reflux disease. Treatments offered: LINX implantation, Stretta Therapy, EndoStim Implantation, Watson fundoplication, Toupet fundoplication, Nissen Fundoplication, gastric bypass surgery and revisional surgery along with repair of hiatal hernias. Mr Sutton performed the first EndoStim implant in the UK, was one of the first UK LINX implanters and performed the first Stetta on a post sleeve gastrectomy patients all with good effect. Mr Sutton has an interest in both diagnostic and interventional endoscopy. He has successfully treated a number of patients with Rumination syndrome with fundoplication.
He is the first UK surgeon to be trained and has used the revolutionary Overstitch endoscopic suturing system. Mr Sutton routinely performs both Laparoscopic and local anaesthetic hernia surgeries both as part of his NHS and private practice along with Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and Laparoscopic Adhesional Surgery. Mr Sutton’s other interests include weight loss surgery and upper gastrointestinal cancer surgery.
