Mr Packham is a consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery with a specialist interest in shoulder and elbow surgery at North Bristol NHS Trust, working in the Avon Orthopaedic Centre and the Major Trauma Centre, Southmead Hospital.
Mr Packham has an active research interest including shoulder instability and dislocations, rotator cuff repair surgery, the management of clavicle and humeral fractures, injuries of the acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) as well as Pec Major and Biceps injuries. He has published on a number of subjects in the peer review literature including sports injuries, joint replacement and hospital infection.
Mr Packham maintains a keen sporting interest and has been involved competitively in a number of sports including athletics and rugby. He has international qualifications in sailing (RYA) and Scuba diving (PADI) and is a qualified ski instructor (BASI).
Courses offered to GPs
Mr Packham is available to provide lectures, small group instruction or advice for GPs on any shoulder and upper limb issues as well as practical skills such as joint injections.
