James is an experienced specialist knee surgeon who works in the NHS at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Southmead Hospital, where he is Specialty Director for orthopaedic surgery.
He is a founding partner of Knee Specialists who work out of the Spire Bristol Hospital for private work. All areas of knee treamtent are covered from assessment, imaging, non-operative and surgical intervention.
James is involved in research through the Bristol Knee Group and with Bristol University, where he also teaches medical students. James is on the BASK Executive as Education Chair. James teaches registrars and fellows at Southmead Hospital where he also receives visiting consultants. Wider afield he lectures both nationally and internationally and is a member of two national and one international consensus groups which establish the best current medical practice management in a number of subspecialty areas of knee surgery.
