About me

I grew up in South West London where I developed a keen interest in sports and outdoor activities.

I worked in the public education sector and private information technology industry prior to sustaining a spinal injury. It was after a GP recommended I see a chiropractor, whose treatment and advice made such an improvement where others were unable to help, that I chose to change my career to chiropractic. I studied at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, graduating with honours and awards in 2003, before moving to Derby and joining Highfield Chiropractic Clinic.

Chiropractic is a primary health-care profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of conditions that are due to problems with the joints, ligaments, muscles/tendons and nerves, especially relating to the spine.

Treatment includes a variety of techniques including manipulation, soft tissue techniques, electro-therapies (ultrasound, interferential), traction, acupuncture (myofascial dry needling), exercise/stretching and rehabilitation, with a particular focus on core strengthening and stability (where appropriate).

Chiropractors treat people of all ages and backgrounds, providing an individual 'package of care', whereby they support their treatment with individual counselling and advice about the patients lifestyle, work, ergonomics and sports/exercise, in order to help manage the condition and prevent a recurrence of the problem.

Referrals are made for MRI/x-ray and further investigations as necessary, and to consultants, GPs and other specialists as appropriate.
