Dr Vinod Achan is a Consultant Cardiologist and Lead Consultant for Primary Angioplasty at the Frimley Heart Attack Centre serving patients from Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. He also works at St George's Hospital and Medical School, London, and Spire Clare Park Hospital, Surrey.
Dr Vinod Achan was educated at Mill Hill School, London, and Brasenose College, University of Oxford. He was awarded the top First Class degree in Physiological Sciences at Oxford University and graduated from Oxford University Medical School in 1993. After his basic SHO training in London (including Cardiology at Hammersmith Hospital and Intensive Care Medicine at St Thomas’ Hospital), Dr Achan was appointed to the South West London Cardiology training programme in 1996. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the Stanford University School of Medicine, California, from 1999 to 2002, was awarded a PhD from the University of London in 2004, and was the Senior Interventional Cardiology Fellow at St George’s Hospital and Medical School before his consultant appointment in 2007. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2011.
