About me

I am a registered Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years of experience of offering individual, couple and family therapy, supervision and consultation in independent practice and the NHS.

My NHS experience has been in the field of health psychology, supporting individuals who have been diagnosed with conditions such as Cancer, HIV, Diabetes and Kidney failure as well as in staff support and employee assistance.

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is essentially positive, forward looking and optimistic. Although particular attention is paid to the immediate problem and interactions in the here-and-now, it can be helpful to reflect on the links between the present and past, because past experiences can have a significant effect on responses to the present.

I am able to draw upon a range of psychological models and believe in working alongside my clients, in a collaborative way, seeking ways to understand and make sense of personal challenges in order that a way forward can be found.
