Please call the Bupa Eye Care team to find out more about and to pre-authorise your treatment on 0345 600 7267.
Mr Alwitry is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon who has written three ophthalmology text books and published more than 35 pieces in the world literature. He has a Masters in Medical Law and undertakes much medicolegal work. He has been a specialist advisor to the CQC on Never Events and has recently been appointed as Safety and Learning Special Advisor to NHS Resolutions tasked with developing a National Programme of Learning from Litigation across all Medical Specialities. He is currently working with the GMC, NHSI, and the BMA to facilitate this.
Rather than just undertake private cataract and lens-based procedures as a Generalist he sought further specialist training and obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive surgery focussing on bespoke patient centred cataract surgery and the use of premium intraocular lenses. He undertakes more than 1800 cataract procedures in a year, more than any other surgeon in the Midlands. He has also published two fiction novels - Emergence and Coercion.
He is also a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Quality and Safety Group.
He is a local surgeon working in Nottingham and Leicestershire so is always available to care for any problems that may occur.
