- Breast surgery
Completed basic surgical training in Cambridge. After the fellowship examinations from London and Edinburgh, remained in West Midlands and completed higher surgical training in the region with specialist training in Breast surgery. While at Good Hope Hospital, I completed my Masters in Medical Sciences (M Med Sci) from Keele University. I have been in a substantive Consultant Surgeon post at Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS trust with sessions both at Sandwell and City Hospitals, Birmingham. SWBH breast unit is one of the largest screening units that provide screening mammography and assessment to women in Birmingham including from Sutton Coldfield and Four Oaks. This obviously enhances of my own experience of treating screen detected breast cancer than can be vital in treating women at Spires Little Aston. I am offering Breast surgery services at Spire Little Aston Hospital and at BMI Priory in Edgbaston. My practice involves management of benign and malignant diseases of Breast. Symptomatic and Screen detected cancers are dealt with according to current guidelines and offer full range of breast surgery including sentinel node biopsy and advice on reconstruction. My interests include screening uptake in BME groups, primary hormonal therapy for breast cancer. Part of my practice also involves dealing with general surgical cases including laparoscopic cholecystectomy and hernia surgery including groin/ventral and incisional hernias.
I am very happy take on referrals for breast and general surgery patients both in NHS and private setting and assure you a good service. I hope to build a rapport and a long standing professional relationship with you and your practice in the years to come.
I tend to spend my time out of work with family and two daughters, who are in university having studied at Sutton Coldfield Grammar school for girls. I have been a Sutton resident for over 20 years and take part in local and community work. I am interested in local, national and international politics. I read on various subjects from history to travel and religion to fiction. As part of clinical tutor at Birmingham Medical School, I provide mentoring to medical students and an examiner in surgery for the medical school. I train and supervise young surgeons and am an accredited examiner for MRCS at the royal college of surgeons England. I can speak fluent Urdu and Punjabi.
