About me

I Qualified as a Doctor in 1995, and completed Specialty training as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine in 2007.
My NHS base is in Stockport where I am Clinical Lead for Chronic Pain.
I have worked in the private sector since 2008 and have established close links with Neuroscience. Most of my work is interventional, treating low back pain and sciatica.

Areas of interest

My practice is primarily Spinal related pain, and I have considerable experience in injection based treatments for low back pain and sciatica. I also undertake epidural injections in the neck for trapped nerves.
NICE Guidance is now directring us towards radiofrequency denervation procedures for low back pain, and I have become very experienced at these procedures for lumbar facet joints and Sacro-iliac joints.

The use of medicines to help control pain is changing a lot, especially in persistent (long term) pain conditions where certain types of drugs are being used much less (Opioids). I follow this evidence based approach and can review pain medications accordingly. Please bring along your prescription.
Please contact my secretary if further details needed.
