I qualified as a doctor in 1994. After completing higher medical and Specialist training in UK, I became a Consultant Gastroenterologist in 2006. My NHS practice is based at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff where I undertake general gastroenterology clinics, specialist inflammatory bowel disease clinics, endoscopy lists, provide inpatient and emergency gastroenterology service.
My private practice is based at Spire Cardiff hospital. I have done thousands of upper GI endoscopies, flexible sigmoidoscopies and Colonoscopies. I see thousands of patients with various gastrointestinal disorders every year. I undertake research and currently involved in International clinical trials in Inflammatory bowel disease. I am also actively involved in training postgraduate doctors in gastroenterology and endoscopy. I keep up-todate with my knowledge and endoscopic skills by regularly attending International Gastroenterology conferences.
I am experienced in managing patients with various gastrointestinal problems:Inflammatory bowel disease, Nutritional disorders, Altered bowel habits, Diarrhoea, constipation, rectal bleeding, Food intolerance, coeliac disease, malabsorption, gastro oesophageal reflux, heartburn, swallowing problems, peptic ulcer, Abdominal bloating, abdominal pain, weight loss, nausea and vomiting, iron and vitamin deficiency anaemias, diagnose gastrointestinal cancer.

Inflammatory bowel disease
I enjoy spending my spare time playing tennis, table tennis or badminton with my wife and children. I try to keep fit by swimming or exercising in a local club.
I have published my research in peer reviewed journals which can be accessed via pubmed electronic resource. I recently co-authored a chapter titled 'Modern Insights in to the aetiology of inflammatory bowel disease' and this is awaiting publication.
