I am a Consultant Dermatologist a Kent & Canterbury Hospital where I am the lead for Paediatric Dermatology. My special interests include all forms of paediatric dermatology, surgery in adults and children, atopic eczema, acne, psoriasis, skin cancer. I am interested in the psychosocial impact of skin disease on peoples' lives.
Areas of interest
Dr Susannah Baron consults on all general Dermatology in children and adults. Her special interests include acne, eczema, psoriasis, allergy, mole checks and skin cancer. She operates on children and adults removing skin cancers and troublesome skin lesions.
Dr Baron has great expertise treating acne in and understands the huge impact acne has on self-confidence and self-image. Dr Baron's NHS post is at St John's Institute of Dermatology at St Thomas' Hospital where she specialises in Paediatric Dermatology and research in childhood atopic eczema.
Dr Baron takes a holistic approach to skin disease and treatment and recognises the significant impact skin disease has on peoples’ lives. She is Treasurer of the UK Psychodermatology, whose aim is to improve the psychological wellbeing of people with skin disease. She was an invited Committee member and author for the All Parliamentary group on Skins report into the psychosocial effect of skin disease.
