I qualified from St. Thomas’ Hospital Medical School and trained in haematology at a variety of North London hospitals. After completion of my medical training I became interested in understanding the scientific basis of blood clotting. This led to a four-year period of research in the Haemostasis and Thrombosis Group at the Medical Research Council. Subsequently I joined the Katherine Dormandy Haemophilia Centre and Thrombosis Unit at the Royal Free Hospital. Details of the clinical services provided can be accessed via the website at www.royalfree.nhs.uk and searching for haemophilia.
