About me

I am a Chartered Consultant Counselling Psychologist. I am registered with HCPC and I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant. I work as a therapeutic psychologist with individuals and families and have extensive experience developing and leading NHS rehabilitation and primary care mental health services.

Areas of interest

I treat the full range of adult psychological conditions and mental health problems. I have particular expertise in working with more complex difficulties, including those that are difficult to diagnose and/ or have not responded to other forms of therapy or treatment. For example, I can work effectively with chronic problems of anxiety and depression, complex bereavement, adjustment to illness and disability, attachment & relationship difficulties, trauma, both recent and historical, and personality difficulties. I use a number of tools to enhance the quality and effectiveness of my practice, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). At the heart of my practice is a commitment to the quality of the therapeutic relationship and the potential of every client to overcome her/ his difficulties.
