About me

I studied medicine at Oxford and Cambridge Universities qualifying in 1991. I later completed cardiology specialist training in Birmingham, following interventional training at the internationally renowned OLVG hospital in Amsterdam, and research in magnetic resonance imaging at Nottingham University for which I was awarded an MD.

I was appointed as interventional cardiologist at the Manchester Royal Infirmary in 2004 and subsequently senior lecturer at Manchester University. I am an internationally recognized expert in transradial access for coronary angioplasty, have been an active council member of the British Cardiovascular Interventional Society and lead for both transcatheter aortic valve replacement and for the cardiac catheter lab at the Manchester Royal Infirmary.
