About me

Dr Lucia Pozo-Garcia is Consultant Dermatologist working at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and in several private London clinics. She is included at the GMC Specialist Register as Dermatologist in the UK.

As dermatologist, Dr Pozo-Garcia specialises in diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions. Skin cancer and pigmented lesions (mole checking under dermoscopy) are the main interest fields of Dr Pozo-Garcia, who is one of the few dermatologists in the UK specifically trained in dermoscopy.

Dr Pozo-Garcia, MD, PhD, qualified from the University of Cadiz (Spain) in 1990 and undertook postgraduate dermatologist training in Seville (Spain) in 1995. During her training post, she was awarded with a clinical fellowship in Paediatric Dermatology in a prestigious dedicated paediatric hospital in Madrid (Hospital del Niño Jesus). In 1996, she completed her PhD thesis on sweat gland tumours.

Dr Pozo-Garcia was working as Consultant Dermatologist at Homerton University Hospital, London, since 1999, where she was the lead clinician for skin cancer and pigmented lesions.

She has completed several courses on dermoscopy and is actively involved in teaching this technique to the dermatology trainees and GPs.
