Ifat qualified as a doctor at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, London in 1987. She specialised in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in London.She has been a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since 1995, and is a member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Ifat was a consultant at Kingston Hospital from 2007 until 2011 .
She works in private practice in the following areas: outpatient consulting for general gynaecological problems, well woman checks, contraception including coils and Nexplanon,pre- pregnancy advice, family planning, colposcopy (the management of abnormal smears), pelvic ultrasound for gynaecological problems.
