About me

Hi my name is Melanie. I am a chartered and registered counselling psychologist who understands that coming for therapy is a very personal and private experience. In terms of what to expect from therapy we will begin by exploring your difficulties together with a view to identifying strategies to bring about change. I have many years experience working in the NHS and private sectors. I am a registered supervisor with the British Psychological Socierty (RAPPS) and teach on professional doctorate programmes providing clinical and research supervision. My background in the NHS and academic settings informs the integration of evidence based approaches to psychological therapy. I have an interest in Cognitive Behavioural approaches including Compassionate Focussed Therapy and third wave approaches. I can offer individual therapy for short and longer term working. I carefully plan therapy to suit your individual needs and am fully accredited by the HCPC, BPS and BABCP. I abide by the ethical frameworks of good practice for all of these organisations.
