Mr Austin Acheson is a consultant colorectal and general surgeon working in Nottingham. He is a specialist in colorectal surgery and has a particular interest in laparoscopic colorectal surgery/ Inflammatory Bowel Disease/ Colorectal Cancer and benign conditions of the anus (Haemorrhoids, fistulae, fissures). He also performs colonoscopies and surgery for all hernias.

He is a recognised national trainer in laparoscopic colorectal surgery. He is a member of the Executive and Council of the Association of Coloproctology of GB and Ireland. He chairs the Research and Audit Committee of the Association Of Coloproctology GB and I. He is on the Board of Examiners for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has published over 80 peer reviewed papers on all aspects of colorectal disease.
