Dr Johnson qualified as a doctor from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 1994 and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997. Dr Johnson trained in Rheumatology under Professor Paul Emery in Leeds and has been a consultant Rheumatologist in Gloucestershire Hospitals Trust since 2005.

As a Rheumatologist Dr Johnson recognises the importance of seeing patients early and making an accurate diagnosis to ensure correct treatment and to prevent complications from rheumatic conditions.
