About us

Pennine Physio was set up in 2005 and since then has developed into a busy practice serving Huddersfield, Halifax and the Colne and Holme Valleys.

Karen Hellawell qualified at Bradford School of Physiotherapy in 1990. She has worked both in the NHS and private practice, including more than ten years experience working with Rugby League players. She was physiotherapist to Huddersfield Giants Rugby Club for nine years and has toured with national squads.

Aideen Farrell qualified as a Sports Rehabilitation specialist in 2006 and worked in private clinics in Ireland, South Africa and Australia. She then pursued her study further in 2010 and gained her chartered physiotherapy title from the University of Huddersfield. Since then she has worked on Orthopaedic wards and Outpatients with private and NHS patients She has a special interest in running injuries and post surgical rehabilitation. In 2016 she graduated again with an MSc.
