About me
Dr Earley, MD MRCP, qualified from the University of Bristol, in 1993. Following junior medical training in the West of England and Australia, he began specialist cardiology training in London, in 1997. He has been at St Bartholomew’s Hospital since 2001, initially as a research fellow, then specialist trainee and before being appointed consultant cardiologist, in 2006.
He specialises in disorders of the rhythm of the heart (electrophysiology). His particular interest is the management of atrial fibrillation (AF) including procedures to restore normal rhythm and prevent stroke. He is the clinical director of the electrophysiology department at the Barts Heart Centre, the largest unit in Europe. He received a Bronze award for clinical excellence from the Department of Health in 2019.
In addition to his clinical work, he is the chair of the accreditation committee for the European Heart Rhythm Association, responsible for setting standards in electrophysiology across Europe. He served on the council of the British Heart Rhythm Society for 5 years
