About me

Simon Williams is a Consultant Cardiologist at Wythenshawe Hospital, South Manchester where he is clinical lead for heart failure. He has previously been Cardiology specialty lead (2010-2013). He practices in all aspects of clinical cardiology and his specialist interest is in heart failure. He also attends the Christie hospital weekly for Cardiology problems in cancer patients.

He was elected to the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH) board as Chair Elect in 2017 and was has previously served on the board as Councillor (2011-2013), Treasurer (2013-2015) and Deputy Chair (2015-2017). He was the (Co) programme director for the BSH national meetings in 2012, 2015 & 2017.

Simon also sits on the board of the British Association of cardiac prevention and rehabilitation (BACPR)

He is frequently invited to give lectures nationally and abroad (see link for lecture:

He has acted as a clinical expert to NICE to approve new drugs for use in heart failure
