His basic surgical training was carried out in Staffordshire and he went on to specialise in Urology with Urological training in the West Midlands. His list of publications include several articles in the prestigious journals The Lancet and The British Medical Journal. In 2003, Birmingham University recognised his interest and research into the causes of prostate cancer were by the awarding the degree Doctor of Medicine (MD). He continues to be involved with research into the causes of prostate cancer in conjunction with Keele and Birmingham Universities.
He was appointed as Consultant Urological Surgeon at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in 2005, and is the local lead for Urology cancer. He has a particular interest in the treatment of prostate cancer, but is also experienced in the treatment of a large range of Urological conditions in both adults and children. He regularly performs treatments for conditions that include cancer, kidney stones, prostate enlargement and foreskin/testicular problems.
