About me

Through over 18 years of work experience and much life experience, the gained holistic perspective enables me to see clients as whole even if they don’t see that for themselves initially. Over the sessions clients, in most cases, see the issue as a doorway to wholeness, which is experienced as clarity, peace, joy, freedom, love and fulfilment.

No matter what form the presenting issue is - mental, physical, emotional, behavioural, social, sexual, spiritual, financial, relationships, clients are met where they are at, with compassion and clarity, and the issue can become a profound doorway to significant and long lasting change.

My approach is to empower clients to take responsibility and an active role in their own growth by teaching them skills that can be incorporated into their daily life. This process is at the client’s pace which could be quite quick or longer.

I am trained in a diverse range of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness based therapies and more. I have significant post qualification training in therapeutic techniques and am able to deliver both short term and longer term therapeutic interventions depending on the needs of my clients.

I believe that with the right support people can make valuable changes to their lives which can significantly alter their quality of life. I work hard to form a trusting, empathic and collaborative relationship with people and strive to have a therapeutic relationship on an equal footing. I endeavour to engage people in therapy in a warm and meaningful way, whilst not shying away from compassionate discussion of the important issues.

For many years I have been actively involved in Oxleas NHS Trust’s commitment with Time to Change – the organisation charged with the role of reducing stigma and discrimination of mental health. Included in this work I have been involved in various research projects and latterly in the development of the Peer Support Project, a project empowering staff and ex-service users to play an active role in the recovery of clients with mental health issues, transforming mental health services within Oxleas NHS Trust.

I am regularly invited to present at conferences and Universities with clinical psychology students.

My consulting rooms are based in Hartfield, East Sussex. I welcome referrals from individuals themselves or other health professionals can refer.

Please do feel free to contact me for an informal discussion on 0795 101 3702.
