About me

Dr Peter Resteghini
Peter Resteghini is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Musculoskeletal Sonographer. He is a member of the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine with 24 years of clinical experience including work and study in Australia, America and Canada.
He leads the Sports and Musculoskeletal Clinic at the Homerton University Hospital in addition to holding regular clinics in both the Physiotherapy Department and the Radiology Ultrasound Department. These clinics are centres for education and learning attended by a variety of medical staff from other specialities as part of their continual professional development. As part of this teaching commitment he has trained and worked with staff who have gone on to work in high level sport including the Football Premiership, Rugby and also Specialists in Sports Medicine at the 2012 Olympics.
His main interests are in the use of ultrasound and ultrasound guided injections in Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine. He is a qualified musculoskeletal acupuncturist and an advanced member of the AACP. He is involved in a number of research projects specifically within the area of ultrasound, guided injection and musculoskeletal medicine. Current research projects include the use of high volume ultrasound guided injection for chronic Achilles tendinopathy, autologous blood and prolotherapy injection and the assessment of carpal tunnel with ultrasound.

He is Course Director for the Postgraduate Musculoskeletal Ultrasound programme at The University of East London.

He is a visiting lecturer at Christ Church Canterbury University and regularly teaches on a number of postgraduate courses. He also holds a private clinic at the Homerton University Hospital.
