Overview

About me

I have 25 years experience of working in mental health both within the NHS and Private Sector. I originally trained as an Occupational Therapist and completed my Post graduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in 1997. I have been working in Private Practice since 1999.
I have experience in treating a broad section of emotional problems and have a speciality in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I am trained to an advanced level in EMDR ( Eye Movement and Disensitisation and Reprocessing ). This is used as an integral part of the Trauma treatment.
I have training in Mindfulness based CBT and ACT therapy- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focussed Therapy.
I feel it is important to tailor treatment to the specific needs of the individual and therefore I will integrate the EMDR, Mindfulness, ACT and Compassionate Mind approaches where appropriate and beneficial to the client.
