I am a fully qualified and experienced Psychotherapist from The Tavistock Clinic, London as well as a Chartered and Consultant Clinical Psychologist, specialising in work with both Adults and Adolescents /Young People.
I worked in the NHS for over 25 years providing Psychotherapy services to a range of clients in outpatient settings.
I work with adolescents and young people to adults who have experienced transient difficulties through trauma or crisis that sometimes result in stress, anxiety and depression. I have worked with clients who have suffered profound emotional difficulties in their early lives that have resulted in enduring personality difficulties that often culminate in self destructive behaviour and relationship patterns.
Bearing in mind that when the client comes for help with their difficulties, they need to feel they are in safe and competent hands, I try to do this by being responsive, sensitive and ethical in my approach and address the things that matter most emotionally and what obstructs the client’s life. I try to do this by making things comprehensible. I believe that genuine personal change comes about through the hard work involved in striving to find personal meaning in our lives and to that extent I try to enable clients to have the space to think, explore and search for what is most helpful to them.
