About me

I graduated from University of Kerala India in 1989, completed my basic surgical training in 1992 (MS General Surgery), my higher surgical training on the Welsh Higher Surgical Training Scheme (CCST - 2002) and was appointed Consultant Upper GI, Laparoscopic & General Surgeon at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire in September 2002. My special interests and expertise are in benign and malignant conditions of the oesophagus and stomach including reflux disease, hiatal hernia, Achalasia, gall bladder disease as well as Upper GI Endoscopy. I also routinely undertake bariatric & metabolic surgery (gastric band, balloon, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass)

I am Clinical Director of Surgical Services since 2008, Honorary Associate Clinical Professor at University of Warwick, Honorary Secretary of British Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS) having been Honorary Treasurer for last 3 years. I am also member of Council of Association of Upper GI Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland (AUGIS) as well as Member of Court of Examiners - Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
