I graduated from Punjab University Lahore, Pakistan in 1987. I completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine at Mersey Deanery, Liverpool. During my training, I had the opportunity to work with Professor Sir Ian Gilmore and Professor Jonathan Rhodes. I was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at North Cumbria University Hospitals in 2001. Aside from developing the Gastroenterology service, I am also very committed to Training and Education. I successfully completed a Diploma in Clinical Education in 2010. I also acts as an examiner for postgraduate examinations on behalf of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom. I have been involved with research, and has acted as principal investigator/co-investigator for a number of multicentre clinical trials.
I relocated as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Bedford Hospital in April 2014. I am clinical lead for Inflammatory Bowel Disease Service. I am also involved with endoscopy training. I am both educational and clinical supervisor to various grades of medical trainees. I am predominantly a luminal Gastroenterologist who carry out both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures.

Gastro-oesophageal reflux; Bowel disease including inflammatory (IBD); Liver Disease excluding viral hepatitis; Barrett's oesophagus, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Colonoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Gastroscopy, therapeutic endoscopy.
