About me

I trained in Liverpool and spent my Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre in New York, USA as well as the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong. My practice covers all aspects of general ENT surgery including otology and rhinology. I have particular interests in voice disorders, functional endoscopic sinus surgery, salivary gland, thyroid surgery and paediatric ent. I have been a Consultant ENT Surgeon since 2002.

In 2007 I spent time on a HCA International Travelling Fellowship at Harvard Medical School's Center for Laryngeal Surgery which specialises in laser surgery.

Mr Makura has published research on paediatric epistaxis, grommets and tympanoplasty. He has expertise in diseases of the salivary glands, thyroid and larynx including cancer surgery.
