About me

I qualified at Guy's Medical School in London in 1992 and have spent 25 years working as a doctor, the last 18 years as a consultant.

A respiratory physician by training, my first consultant post was at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham as Consultant in Respiratory Medicine and clinical lead for the Medical High Dependency Unit, caring for critically ill patients with asthma, COPD, pneumonia and respiratory failure.

A sabbatical in 2009 at Stanford University's Sleep Center in California gave me an special interest in sleep disorders. Moving to Birmingham's Heartlands Hospital in 2014 allowed me to develop this interest as Consultant in Respiratory Medicine and lead for Sleep Medicine.

Sleep Disorders / sleep apnoea; narcolepsy; sleep walking; night terrors; restless legs and periodic limb movements; REM Sleep Behaviour Disorder; Sleep Phase disorders
