About me

Dr Vijay commenced postgraduate training in anaesthesia in the UK in November 1987. She has undergone rigorous training in Anaesthesia in hospitals such as Royal Bartholomew’s and Royal London Hospitals. She obtained FRCA (UK) in January 1992 and continued post fellow training under the South West Thames School of Anaesthesia, which enabled her to develop an interest in sub speciality - Pain Medicine and to further her training in renowned hospitals such as Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and St Georges Hospital.
Having had comprehensive training in acute and chronic pain, using wide ranging pain interventions/ injections, as well as multi-disciplinary pain management programme pertaining to various age group Paediatrics to Geriatrics, she is competent in providing patient centred treatment.
She joined Greenwich District Hospital as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine in August 1998. She has published a review article – The role of Anaesthetist in sickle cell crisis in British Journal of Anaesthesia and various observational studies in Post-Surgical Pain. She takes an active role in GP education and participates in international academic meetings regularly.
