About me

I have been running 3 Laparoscopic Hernia Workshops for Consultants and Sprs every year. Since 2006, I have organised 30 workshops and taught 160 delegates. Three years ago, due to increased demands, I have started 'hands-on' workshops, each on an all-day list. The hospital has encouraged me and created new criteria to issue. The Royal College of Surgeons of England has accepted to accredit the course.

The National Carotid Endarterectomy Audit, 2011/2012, has praised my 107% contribution to the audit and compared our impressive performance to the national results.

Honorary Contracts for the candidates. The British Hernia Society, satisfied with the program and with excellent participants feedback, have provided their logo to be added to the certificates.

I have been shortlisted twice for a BMJ Award 2012 and 2013 for the charity work performed with Operation Hernia in Africa. The missions, which I have started in 2008, are increasing in popularity and the team I have created in the last mission has performed 271 operations in nine days. This exercise improves our hospital's profile in our community and beyond. Our trainees who volunteer with us are exposed to a rare training opportunity during this period. The benefits to our hospital, patients, the NHS as well as the African patients are evident.

Winner of Leighton Hospital’s "Judges Award" Surg & Ca div 2009.
